Blue Bonnets

We decided to finally take some pictures in the blue bonnets this year per obsessive Texas tradition. Because what if, tragedy of my life, this is our last lovely spring in Texas. Let's hope not.

Hyrum was thrilled after church being already 2.5 hours late for nap time to sit in a field of flowers by the church parking lot. Can you tell?

International Festival

The boys' school has a big international festival every year. Each grade does a dance from another country and there is a big potluck with food from everywhere. Also a parade of nations with probably 35 counties. Because the school is downtown and because it includes student housing there are tons of countries represented.

I love being surrounded by so much diversity. The kids will go to the park out our front door to meet up with their friends whose families come from all over the world...Korea, India, Iraq, the Philippines, Russia, Iceland, Denmark. 

Uncle Marcus & Aunt Elizabeth

My brother Marcus came out with his wife Elizabeth near the end of March and we had such a fun visit with them.

The kids introduced them to Frozen and sang Let It Go along to Elizabeth's ukulele. We made pizza and popcorn and trader joes spice cake. 

We visited Zilker Park and rode the train and explored the botanical gardens. There was a fairy exhibit going on so the kids had tons of fun searching out all the fairy houses among the trees. 

The adults went out to dinner on Saturday night and had amazing donought food at Gordoughs. We talked and played games and watched funny you tube videos. 

Elizabeth and Hyrum bonded over her iPhone camera. Marcus and Hannah built the San Diego temple with Legos.  

Love my brother so much and his wonderful wife. So happy they are part of our family. We love spending time with them!!

Blue Bell...yum!

On the way home from Houston we stopped off at Blue Bell. Taylor needed to rest his eyes. And we needed some ice cream. ;) Hyrum was freaking out when we got to the ice cream parlor and he saw all the ice cream buckets. He kept sticking his fingers in his mouth like the sign for 'eat' and saying 'num num num'. He recognizes his Blue Bell ice cream cartons.

Camping

For spring break we went out to Houston. Spent a day with the Hales and then met up with the Frosts to camp at their property in Dayton. The kids had tons of fun on the 4 wheelers. Matthias was fast and reckless. Everyone had loads of fun driving around though. Even Hyrum found a little electic four wheeler to drive. He was so happy to be riding lie the big kids.

Taylor and I enjoyed spending time with Joe and Nannette. It was great to chat and catch up. All the kids slept excellent, we had s'mores and played in the dirt. Lots of fun!

Happy St Patrick's Day

Today was a blast. Beautiful sunny weather. Festive time with the kids I love. :)
