Growing

May I start this post by saying nap time is a really lousy time for the garbage truck to make his rounds. Moving on.

I thought y'all might like to see my growing tummy since some of you still claim I don't even look pregnant. I look pregnant. I promise. I tried doing every four weeks, but moving kind of threw out week 12. I completely forgot. Which is too bad since I think the biggest change happened between weeks 12 and 16. But what can you do. So I am posting the two closest pics of me to week 12 that I have, one at week 10 and one at week 14.

Ruffles and Tights

Okay, I really can't wait for y'all to vote...I've been all over craigslist, etsy, etc. But I've only visited two actual stores so far. Like Taylor says, "You have four whole months." Like I say, "To buy every cute thing I see." =]

Huge Sigh of Relief

Done.

The surgery, procedure, dental work, whatever you want to call it...I called it nerve racking for a poor mother...is over and done. James is happy and healthy and has four shiny silver teeth. In the back. The front ones are all beautiful and white.

Please brush your children's teeth. Twice a day. And floss. And hope you don't have excessively poor enamel to pass on through your genes.

James ended up with four crowns/pulpotomies and only one root canal (they were estimating two). Then filling of several cavities. He had general anesthesia and was in surgery for almost two hours.

He was so cute and wonderful about everything. His surgery was scheduled for 2 pm which meant no food after 6 am. Therefore, no food today. He was allowed a bowl of Jello before 10 am. I was really worried he would be grumpy about it, but he only cried once. He asked to eat about 20 times though. But we made it.

At the Denver Children's Hospital (wonderful, wonderful place) he was happy and smiley and all the nurses said how cute and silly he was. He kept asking if we were done and if he could eat and if he could get dressed again. Since we had to see three nurses, the anesthesiologist, and the dentist before surgery he thought we should be done after all that hullabaloo.

When he went back for his gas he was making this funny sniffing at the mask before it started coming through and everyone thought he was really goofy. I was so impressed with how brave he was when they had him lay down and put a strap on him. My beautiful little angel did amazing!

In the recovery room his eyes popped open when he woke up, he looked around, rolled over, and went back to sleep. It was pretty funny. The nurse couldn't get him to want to wake up. I guess he was really tired. He's been eating jello and slushies like crazy since then and acting like our normal little James.

Thank you so much for all your prayers and support through this. I know it was a little procedure and not a big risk or anything, but it's still hard as a mother to hand your child over to someone else and hope and pray he will be okay. I was blessed with faith and calm today and a spirit of peace. I am so grateful that all went well and James is healthy and happy.

(With Matthias before we left)

Talmage or Hannah Mae?

Totally making these after Wednesday.

Not to mention a new carseat cover, new bumpers, at least two more blankets, three or four pajamas (already have all that cute pink fabric), and a blessing dress. If the baby is a girl. If.

Love My Boys

This morning James said..."Let's be silly Matt!" (as opposed to...??)

18. Have you gained weight since then?: A couple times, I'm on my third now. But my net has actually been five pounds less.

19. Who was your prom date?: Justin Bradley and Mike...can't remember last name. Justin had just left on his mission and Meg asked me and told him he was taking me. Pathetic, I know.

20. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion?: Of course.

21. Looking back, what advice would you give yourself?: Get up the guts to ask Mike if he liked me. Now we're both very happily paired, so guess it didn't matter. =]

The Leaves are Falling Down

I LOVE fall!! Probably the best benefit of the move besides being closer to family is experiencing a fall. As the leaves have begun to change James asked, "What happened the trees?" We took the boys up to the mountains to find some good tree viewing. We did see some, but mostly the spot we were at had evergreens, so not too much variation.

Why I love fall...

Warm days, cool nights
Beautiful trees
Hot chocolate season starts
Christmas is almost here (and I finish my shopping)
Everything is orange
Fall is the perfect cozy warm colors
My house decor is always ready for fall
Just beautiful and perfect

But then it gets cold...and I do no like winter. What can you do? Generally I try to have babies during the winter. So far we're 3 for 3.
