Hyrum's Blessing

Hyrum had his blessing on February 3. He was the oldest of all our kids when blessed plus he loves arching his back so Taylor held him sitting up with a grandpa on either side holding his arms. =]

It was a great blessing and we wrote down a lot of what was said and put in his baby book. Once again lots of family attended since it was the same weekend as James' baptism. 

James' Baptism

James was baptized last weekend on February 2 and it was a great experience. We had so much fun with all the family that came out. Both sets of grandparents and all my sisters were able to come and it was a big party all weekend since we also had Hyrum's blessing. I'm so proud of James and all he is accomplishing. He was really excited to get baptized. My mom brought him a binder with some family history so he was able to learn about some of his ancestors and start his own records. He wrote in his journal about his feelings. Since he is a January birthday he was the first in his primary class to get baptized. 

Family

Fun weekend with walks, playing pounce, lots of ice cream, homemade pizza, deli sandwiches, ipad playing and tons of fun! And of course the baptism and blessing!

Cub Scouts

Sunday night was "It's Great To Be 8" so we went with James and learned all about just how great it is. Including the awesomeness of Cub Scouts. During the whole 10 minute presentation the boys listened with rapt attention and came away with "BB guns" and "archery". After while eating refreshments they couldn't stop talking about BB guns and bows and arrows and on and on and on. Then one of the girls (there are 2 in the class...they're twins) said "We get to make blankets!" The boys paused and looked at them..."BB guns!" And on they went again. Haha. It was pretty funny.

Kim & Nannette

I went out to Utah for a quick weekend trip Dec 28 to 31 to visit with Kim who was in from Australia. Nannette also made the trip out so the three of us were able to spend the weekend shopping, eating out, visiting, watching Les Mis and having fun together. Hyrum came with me and slept horribly during the night, but he was fairly cooperative during the day and slept through all of Les Mis. He also did great on the plane so I can't complain. I had so much fun with these ladies that I love and miss living near!

Also Sunday night I got to spend with my mom, dad, and sisters. It was so fun to have dinner together and play Pounce of course. Unfortunately Hyrum got a fever our last day there so that made it kind of lame with my mom and I spending the day at the doctor. But overall it was a great trip. Taylor was wonderful enough to keep all the other kids even though he and Hannah were sick also. They ate out and went to a movie and had fun at home.
