Six Flags Over Texas

We took the kids to Six Flags and they had a blast. It was so much fun! Taylor took the day off and we didn't say anything to the kids until the morning of when we said we were going somewhere and to get in the car. They were so hilarious coming up with where they thought we were going. In the end they decided we were going to this big splash pad and out to eat because that was the coolest thing they could think of.

It was such a fun day and Hyrum did well and the kids loved the rides. They were all pretty daring and I was happy to just push Hyrum around. =]

All the kids got to pick one game to play so everyone came home with a prize. The log ride was a big hit and the boys loved the swings, went on them like 5 times in a row. We went on a random Wednesday so we had almost no lines, the longest was maybe 15 minutes. We got there right when it opened and stayed until the fireworks and closing.

So much fun.

(as of end of October Hannah still talks about Six Flags almost daily...when we'll go again, what she will ride, etc. It's an obsession.)

Hyrum's Discoveries

I can put things inside of other things.

I can screech just as loud as the other kids.

Real food is a lot tastier than baby food.

It's not a good idea to try to eat the surface of the swimming pool.

If I sign music everyone freaks out and claps for me.

When I lay quietly in my bed no one realizes I am awake and I get a few extra minutes not being mugged.

If I let go of something it falls. But someone will always hand it back to me. So I can drop it again.

Mom's phone is the best toy in the house.

Happy Birthday Mom!

My birthday was lots of fun. Presents in the morning (sheets and my tablet) and then while Taylor was at work for a few hours the kids and I headed to the splash pad to meet some friends who set up a fun picnic lunch party for me. Then we headed home to meet Taylor and go swimming...because really we cannot get enough of water and scorching temps. =]

Then out to dinner at Marelia's (mexican) and to pick up an ice cream cake. It was a lovely day thanks to my friends and wonderful husband and kiddos.

Singapore

Taylor went to Singapore for 12 days. It was his first time out of the country. The flight was REALLY long and he had terrible jet lag being 14 hours ahead. Overall I think he enjoyed the experience...he went to a conference where he presented some of his work and then spent a week doing research at the university there. He went to church and did some wandering around, but mostly was working and trying to sleep.

We really missed him while he was gone and could only talk on Skype first thing in the morning or at night since our schedules were so off. The kids and I went to Houston for a few days, had some fun 4th of July festivities (parade, swimming, carnival, fireworks), and Teresa came to visit for 10 days.

This is some crazy ice cream wrapped in bread..."it was all right."
