Cemetery

So one afternoon we just Google mapped cemetery because I like to go to random cemeteries. These cool ones we found were super old--there weren't any names on the tombstones. The first one was kind of creepy because it was set off the road and like we had to walk through all this tallgrass to get to it. But the second one was just along the sidewalk with a wall by it.

Then the kids found these short little wall things to slide on as we walk towards the bus. We were in a cool part of town with all these mosques and other neat buildings.

We had a pretty grand adventure and then ended up waiting for the bus for like 30 minutes but the kids kept jumping over these poles. This couple kept laughing at them.

Fort Canning

We went by a cool park called Fort Canning park. We really wanted to come up at the City Hall MRT stop so we could look around. Also we wanted to walk by the Singapore Museum. We happened upon this park while we were out doing that and it was beautiful there. It was fun to run around with the kids and explore the trails and we also found a small cemetery.

After exploring the park we wandered down the road towards MRT and found the cool Harvey sign. It was a really neat afternoon and then we met Taylor for dinner on our way home.

Merlion & Esplanade

Saturday we went down to the Esplanade to wander around and to see the Merlion. It was a relaxing evening and a lot of fun. We passed a jazz concert.

We had a first mango sticky rice here. Also some of out favorite yummy buns.

Also at the stadium there was a practice for National Day so we stopped to watch the gun boats and see the jets fly by over head. They really startled Hyrum because they were so loud.

Then walked past some of the war memorials near City Hall mrt before heading home. A great family evening together.

Singapore Zoo

For the 4th of July, Taylor took the day off and we went to the zoo. It was a lot of fun but we took the wrong stop at the mrt so it ended up taking us 2 hours to arrive instead of 1. :(

Once we got there though everyone had a great time. The zoo was so beautiful since everything is tropical it was green and lovely. Also the animals were so close. Most of the monkeys had little to no barrier so you could get right up by them.

All the exhibits were really neat. We saw the end of one animal show that looked very cool. We stopped and played at the splash pad/water park. A must for any outing here as it's so hot! Got some ice cream.

4th of July

After the zoo we went down to Orchard Street and ate at a hamburger joint Taylor knows of. The burgers were delicious and we also got root beer floats.

While we were walking along Orchard we passed a soccer promotion booth dk the kids stopped and kicked a soccer ball and each got a bag, scarf, small blanket, and notebook. Because everyone needs a scarf in Singapore.

Some ladies we walked by have Hyrum a ballon they had so everyone was set with goodies. It was a fun day even with no fireworks.

First Tooth!

So Hannah got her first loose tooth about a week before we left for Singapore. She was really excited but she wanted to not lose it till after we got Singapore so she could get Singapore money from the tooth fairy. Lucky her it fell out about two days after we got here. She got a Singapore one dollar coin from the tooth fairy.
