Bumbo

This is Matthias is his new bumbo chair. It is a pretty cool little contraption made of polyurethane and he is a champion sitter in it!! He loves to be able to watch us play and be a part of the big people world.

The comparison

So we took the boys down to Kemah boardwalk the other day and had some fun. There are some shops and restaurants, also an aquarium and some sting rays. The ocean was pretty, we had steak at Saltgrass (yum!) and we had a great time. We had taken James there the summer we lived in Bay City and took a pic of him on this shark bench, so I wanted to get a picture with Matt on the shark bench. Oddly enough Matthias was wearing the same shirt James wore when we took him there...weird. However, James was 5 1/2 months old and Matthias was 2 1/2 months old. Here are the pics to compare. They do look quite similar, but what is most shocking is they are almost the same size...lol. We love our boys.

Darker Orange

We recently darkened the orange color on our wall and added some great place mats. I love my orange house!!

James' Birthday

Finally I am posting James' birthday celebrations. I think we took more than a hundred pics, so I just grabbed a couple really quickly. On the Saturday before his birthday (jan27) we had a big party with friends (Hales, Johnstons, Gionettes, Mengs, Ellis, (the Slatons could not make it)). Mom made a great cake (with some help from dad) with a construction theme, we ate ice cream, opened gifts, and had a blast!! On James' actual birthday Dad came home from work at noon (Tuesday is his short day) and we headed to the mall after nap time to play at the tree house and go to the Pet shop to see the dogs. Then we headed over to Chucky Cheese for some fun!! The Hales (Mandy, Jimmy, and Sophie) met us there and every one had a blast!! Then we came home and opened a few more gifts (The Little People Pirate Ship) and called grandmas and grandpas. It was a very fun day!!

Tickle Monster...

Matt is really growing up fast!! He is super responsive now and LOVES being tickled. He is so smiley and happy all the time. Also, Matthias really likes "The itsy bitsy spider" and will watch our hands very closely when we sing it for him. He is just the cutest little guy!! Here are some pics of Taylor getting him.

The Great House Warming

So, Kathy and I went crazy and painted my kitchen orange!! We really like it, but Taylor and I might darken it up a little...it is pretty bright right now. We also got orange curtains and pillows. The whole look is supposed to be that burnt orange, rusty color I love. Taylor and I think we like it, but so much color after our completely white house is a little shocking still. Hope you like the pics.

Matt's bath

Matt just had a bath...which he loves baths!! Thought I would post some pics of afterwards and a little video if I can figure out how. This bath was different and more exciting than others because Matthias not only spit (a lot) and peed in his bath (which are fairly normal occurances), but also pooped in his bath. All of this occured in about 5 minutes or less. =]
