Though it has been a while I am finally fulfilling the request for pictures of the stuff I have been making for Hannah. I really wanted a pink car seat, but Taylor wouldn't let me buy one. Something about us already owning two infant carriers. So I just recovered one of the green jungle print we had.Next is the traditional rag blanket. Both the boys have one and I have been collecting material for this one for about four years...so it turned out perfect! Bright on the front and light on the back. You can see both sides in the second picture.
The last pictures are of the sling I made. It would obviously look better pictured on a person, but since I'm the only one it technically fits in this house and currently I have a large bump where it would normally go I just took a photo on the chair. It's double sided.
I also made some pajamas, but it seems like I already posted those? Next I will be making some bedding for the cradle Taylor has almost finished...a post to come. And I bought some items today to make a super cute frame so that will be up soon too. So much pink. It's really quite weird to see it all piling up in our house. But very exciting!
Also, my vote is February 19. Sometime before noon so I can sleep in my own bed that night. And I'm counting on an 8 pounder. Maybe 4 oz?

When's the Big Day?
So people keep asking me this every Sunday. First, how should I know? Second, it's one week less than last week. Obviously they aren't keeping as good of track as I am though...
Everyone can leave a comment with your guess and I will send the winner a prize. The prize will depend on the winner, but I'll make sure it's something good. And you'll have to allow 6-8 weeks for delivery after delivery.
Here are the stats as I know them to help aid in your guess:
a) According to the doctor (aka the start date of my last period) I am due February 15.
b) According to me (aka the actual day I ovulated) I am due February 18.
c) James was 6 days past his doctor due date.
d) Matthias was induced on his due date. I had no dilation or contractions prior to entering the hospital.
e) I have now gained the same amount as I did with both boys.
f) I am currently not dilated at all.
g) Pictures of me this past week.Good luck!! May the person with the soonest guess win.

James Speak
I actually have a couple posts lined up, but our SD reader is still not working so I can't upload pics. So instead I'll just post James' funny talk...
James: Who are Sandy & Larry? (they live about 15 minutes from us)
Me: Grandma Harvey's Aunt & Uncle
James: NO! Aunts and Uncles live in Utah.
Me: Do you need to go potty?
James: No. I'm just stepping around for exercise.
James: (while eating dinner) This is SO Yummy!! Mmm. This is super yummy. This is better than the cookie I had.
Me: (to Matthias) Do you want to get James a birthday gift?
James: (looking Matthias straight in the eye with all seriousness) I would really LOVE a BB gun.
James: (to G-ma Harvey) We have a lot of stairs in our house. Like 200.

56 Degrees & Sunny
My happiness is beyond compare. What's better is Monday and Tuesday it is actually supposed to hit a balmy 60 degrees. Better pull out those summer shorts...
In other happy news my back stopped hurting on Monday and has been completely fine since. Weird yes. But I am very happy. It's been hurting since about Octoberish. Last week it got to the point that it was starting to hurt at 10 am and by night time I was really hurting. I wasn't sure how I would last for six more weeks and was pretty sure I would never have any more children. Then this week it's been completely gone.
Also my pelvic pain that has also been escalating since about November hit a point in the last couple weeks where it felt like it was grating against itself and the dull ache had turned to a sharp, scraping pain. Walking was quite uncomfortable. This week it has receded to almost normal again. I just feel a little sore after being still too long (like sleeping).
Because of these tender mercies (and Hannah probably changing position) I may survive the next five weeks. I still feel quite large, but I feel good. And for everyone's info I have been measuring two weeks ahead my whole pregnancy, so I am fatter than average. Don't try to talk me out of it. I feel it. Don't get any ideas about this little one coming two weeks early though. I have no hope of that. Okay, maybe a small hope, but who doesn't?
Happy Sunny Weekend!!
(Belly picture pending...my card reader won't read my SD card)

Boys & Girls
We headed over to one of our favorite places in Colorado this morning...Monkey Bizness. And had an interesting experience involving boys versus girls. And their respective parents.
Matthias has recently taken up pushing. A wonderful moment in all parents' lives and a joy until it has passed.
Monkey Bizness is a large room full of plastic play equipment, climbing cubes, rock walls, bounce houses, etc. At any given time approximately 50-60 children ages 1 through 4 are racing everywhere in chaos and happiness. Very fun, very good for producing long naps. However, I will be bold enough to say if you fear your child being pushed then you should find another place of entertainment. Perhaps your own home. As long as you only have one child.
I am sitting peacefully reading a book when the lady next to me says, "Is that your kid in the red shirt? He's pushing." (I purposely put him in red so I could spot him easily, but maybe next time I should make sure he blends in better...) I head over to Matthias and usher him to an appoximately 2 1/2year old girl clinging to her mother, screaming at the top of her lungs. This may be the girl he pushed. Possibly she has lost a limb.
Me: I'm sorry. Did he push her?
Mother of Girl #1: A few times.
Me: I'm sorry. Matthias please apologize.
Matthias: Sorry.
At which point Matthias sits by me on the bench for several minutes until he is allowed to play again.
While at the top of a slide Matthias pushes a 5 year old boy. The boy looks at him like he is crazy and then goes down the slide.
Matthias is playing happily with a ball. 2 year old boy approaches, grabs ball. Matthias grabs ball back. Boy walks away. Matthias carefully sets his ball down by me. Runs across the room, shoves boy.
Me: I'm sorry. Matthias, can you say sorry?
Mother of Boy#1: (with amused expression on her face) It's fine. Honey go find another ball.
15 to 18 month old girl toddles by. Matthias reaches out and shoves her over. Mother gives dirty look. I ask Matthias to apologize then take him out of the play area for a break and snack. Following conversation overheard by me...
Mother of Girl#2: That little boy just pushed her over.
Mother of Girl#1: He pushed my little girl too.
Dirty looks, disgusted voices.
Wow.
Offended by a 2 year old. Grown women getting all up in arms about the actions of one small boy.
As I go to get Matthias to leave 3 year old boy starts crying.
Mother of Boy#2: We don't squeeze other people.
Boy#2: He hurt me.
Me: Did he push you?
Boy#2: Yes.
Me: I'm sorry. Matthias, we don't push. Please say sorry.
Mother of Boy#2: It's okay. Honey sometimes other kids push but they say they are sorry. We don't hurt them too.
I obviously don't condon pushing, hitting, etc. Matthias was asked to apologize, removed from the situation, and given time outs. But I was quite amused to see the reactions of girl mothers versus boy mothers. As well as the reactions of the boys and girls themselves. I do know some very understanding mothers of girls as well, don't get me wrong. But the gross generalization tends towards the above example. Hopefully Hannah survives two brothers...

Year of The ??
2008 was the year of the blog.
2009 is not the year of the blog. It is the year of something yet to be determined. Maybe the year I added my third child and nearly froze to death? (not related issues) We'll see.
As for now, I will actually post some time. I promise. But if I haven't you can just imagine that the boys and I are playing at home...freezing and waiting for spring. You should then have a fairly accurate picture of our lives. Maybe I'll post tomorrow.

Highlights of 2008
Visits to family...lots of them. We have spent about seven weeks with family this year and it has been wonderful. We wanted the boys to know their grandparents/aunts/uncles better and we wanted to strengthen our relationships with our siblings (hence the move to this cold, forsaken place...) so I think we have done a lot towards accomplishing that goal.
Wonderful friends in Texas...I really miss Wednesday lunches and girls' night out.
Trip to San Marcos...so fun. Can't wait to fit in those clothes I bought.
Enjoying Autumn...it was wonderful to have a fall season this year. The trees were the beautiful and the weather was heavenly. Colorado's one saving grace. (Can you believe we paid $700 to register our cars here!!)
We're having a girl!!...Getting ready for my Hannah Mae and anticipating her arrival have definitely been a highlight of the past year.
Playing on the swingset...The boys loved our swingset and Taylor did such a great job building it. We can't wait for him to build another!
Visits to the zoo and Sea World...we had season passes to both and loved seeing all the animals and enjoyed being outside.
Becoming an Aunt!!...my niece is just so cute. If you haven't seen her yet you should.
New sewing machine...has been lots of fun and helped me to create some really cute stuff already. I've done a lot of sewing this year and am so excited for everything to come.
