Bats!

Finally went to see the bats that live under Congress bridge. It's only like a two minute drive from our house and 1.5 million bats live under the bridge. Is was a really fun evening out with the kids. There were lots of people there so it felt like a party. It's hard to see the bats in the pictures but tons and tons of them came out and the kids thought it was really cool. Plus we got our first family selfie.

Labor Day

For Labor Day we went swimming at Deep Eddy pool with the Barlows. Then off to Matt's El Rancho for lunch. They came home with us for a couple more hours just to visit and play. Super love the Barlows. So glad we have such good friends here in Austin. Wish they would move downtown with us soon... :)

Singapore Airport to Korea

We got to the airport a couple hours early so we could wander around some. The Singapore airport has some really neat stuff...gardens, activities, playgrounds, etc. The kids had a great time running around past bed time.

Then a horrible red eye flight to Korea. They kept trying to feed us. They seriously kept asking if we wanted food and I kept saying hello it's one in the morning we want you to turn off the lights. I was pretty crabby.

By the time we landed in Korea everyone had gotten like four hours asleep and we felt awful. We tried to eat something then the three youngest played well James and I slept on the benches.

The second flight was better everyone played and watch movies and had a pretty good time. It honestly went by a lot faster than I thought it would.

Last Day

We woke up Tuesday morning just the kids and I in the hotel since Taylor and his parents left around 3 am for their flights. Just had a slow morning getting ready and playing electronics. Then after checking out, the crazy in me decided we needed one last MRT ride. So rather than take a taxi with my 4 children and 2 suitcases and a pack and play we walked to the mrt station half a mile away and then rode it to the Beverly's. Haha.

Our day spent with them was absolutely lovely though. We were so lucky to meet them our first Sunday in Singapore and get to spend so much fun time together over the summer. Jenna is a wonderful lady and her kids were lots of fun for mine. Played legos, did crafts, watched movies, had lunch and dinner. Also during Hyrum's nap Jenna let me run over to the shops to pick up some kaya butter to take home and one last jug of the amazing mango juice we love.

After a fun filled and relaxing day it was off to the airport (in a taxi) for our exodus home. We loved Singapore!!

No Durian

Monday morning we flew back to Singapore and checked into a hotel. Honestly we were all so exhausted at that point we didn't make good on any of our grand plans to visit Chinatown one more time or track down our favorite foods. We ate at the first place we saw and then wandered down the street across from the hotel. We did find one last ice cream cart though. Mmm.

I was not having a great day...a combination of it being the end of our great adventure and all of the other adults were leaving me alone in Singapore to fly home by myself with 4 kids. Not the happiest thought. But we survived the day and I think everyone else had a good time. =]

We all loved the No Durian sign in the hotel. It really does stink that bad.
