Happy Birthday to Hyrum!

Good morning to the birthday boy. Per tradition we do gifts in the morning which now entails getting up extra early before school.

We have been telling in it's almost his birthday for a while. And he didn't really know what we were talking about but as soon as he woke up he was very excited. Birthday definitely meant something good.

He was a little leery of the monster bowling at first just because of the texture but he fell in love with them soon and now all the big kids want to play with them too.

Of course he was ecstatic about the lightning McQueen pj pants and he wanted to wear them all day.

Loved that he got his own name pillow like the big kids.

Snuggling in his quilt. I always thought he would like the bug jar fabric the best but his favorite is the buttons.

He had fun running around in this box forever. It was super funny, we took a video and he thought it was so funny to watch himself.

Hyrum was so excited to help make the cupcakes for his birthday he wanted to eat one as soon as they came out of the oven so I had to let him have one. Also his best friend Lincoln came over to play for a bit. Then we went to lunch with Taylor and he got "pizza!"

After naptime we played and then are macaroni and cheese for dinner and then we ate cupcakes. Hyrum picked out this pumpkin cake from Pinterest. He was so excited about the fire in the candles. Whenever I asked him if he liked his birthday he would say "fire!"

After all the Halloween festivities he was pretty much in heaven. He sang to himself in bed before finally falling asleep around 9:30. He basically thought it was the best day ever.

I can't believe my baby is so big. How have 2 years gone by? He is such a cutie and loves to get involved in whatever the big kids are doing. They are usually happy to include him in their games. He loves running down to the park with them.

Every morning he and I play Legos after we go walking by the lake or to the gym. He LOVES his Legos. We have had such a fun time this year with just us two at home. I am loving this special time we get together. He is always happy when we are out and about and he loves to yell "yeah!" Whenever I say what we are going to do, whether it's laundry or the park. Love this adorable little man and his awesome blonde hair and dimples.

Camping

We went camping with the Barlows this weekend. It was super fun to camp with friends! The kids had a blast and we enjoyed talking til late. The boys found pecans all over the ground so all the kids started cracking them and eating them. Then roasting them with the s'mores.

Of course it starts raining at 3:30 am though and didn't let up. It was pouring so hard in the morning we couldn't even take the tents down. We had to go to the Barlows house and the guys had to go back a couple hours later to get our gear. The campsite was flooded but everything made it out okay. And the boys didn't mind 3 hours of Mario cart even though we were sad to miss out on hiking.

Hannah and Livvy telling each other 'scary' stories.

Bats!

Finally went to see the bats that live under Congress bridge. It's only like a two minute drive from our house and 1.5 million bats live under the bridge. Is was a really fun evening out with the kids. There were lots of people there so it felt like a party. It's hard to see the bats in the pictures but tons and tons of them came out and the kids thought it was really cool. Plus we got our first family selfie.

Labor Day

For Labor Day we went swimming at Deep Eddy pool with the Barlows. Then off to Matt's El Rancho for lunch. They came home with us for a couple more hours just to visit and play. Super love the Barlows. So glad we have such good friends here in Austin. Wish they would move downtown with us soon... :)

Singapore Airport to Korea

We got to the airport a couple hours early so we could wander around some. The Singapore airport has some really neat stuff...gardens, activities, playgrounds, etc. The kids had a great time running around past bed time.

Then a horrible red eye flight to Korea. They kept trying to feed us. They seriously kept asking if we wanted food and I kept saying hello it's one in the morning we want you to turn off the lights. I was pretty crabby.

By the time we landed in Korea everyone had gotten like four hours asleep and we felt awful. We tried to eat something then the three youngest played well James and I slept on the benches.

The second flight was better everyone played and watch movies and had a pretty good time. It honestly went by a lot faster than I thought it would.

Last Day

We woke up Tuesday morning just the kids and I in the hotel since Taylor and his parents left around 3 am for their flights. Just had a slow morning getting ready and playing electronics. Then after checking out, the crazy in me decided we needed one last MRT ride. So rather than take a taxi with my 4 children and 2 suitcases and a pack and play we walked to the mrt station half a mile away and then rode it to the Beverly's. Haha.

Our day spent with them was absolutely lovely though. We were so lucky to meet them our first Sunday in Singapore and get to spend so much fun time together over the summer. Jenna is a wonderful lady and her kids were lots of fun for mine. Played legos, did crafts, watched movies, had lunch and dinner. Also during Hyrum's nap Jenna let me run over to the shops to pick up some kaya butter to take home and one last jug of the amazing mango juice we love.

After a fun filled and relaxing day it was off to the airport (in a taxi) for our exodus home. We loved Singapore!!
