Easter 2015

Some pictures form our Easter festivities. Hannah wore her new easter dress on Palm Sunday since Easter was the same as General Conference this year. I did some actual crafts to add some additional Easter decor to our house.

Our egg dying was on Good Friday along with hot cross buns and the ward picnic. Also I did my moms traditional Easter cupcakes this year. Somehow the Easter Bunny only brought red jelly beans though.

And for our service project this year we all picked items to sell to raise money. Then we donated the money to disaster relief. The kids all picked this as our project and it went well.

Matthias Chatter

Me: How's your ear?

Matthias: Good. It always hurts a little bit. But it hurts the most when I don't want to do something. Or I'm tired or bored.

Matthias: Jesus must have spent extra time on girls because He made them so they could make babies.

"I Go School"

Hannah told Hryum he could go to school today, so when I dropped off the kids and wouldn't unbuckle him he wasn't very happy. "Hannah told me" he kept saying. So later this morning we drove past a preschool with a playground and the following conversation ensued...

Hyrum: A park!!
Mom: No that's a school for little kids.
Hyrum: I go school.
Mom: No you can't go to school or I'll miss you.
Hyrum: I miss mommy.
Mom: Yeah you can go to school when you are a little bit bigger.
Hyrum: I go kids' school.
Mom: Yeah you can go to school with the big kids when you're a little bigger.
Hyrum: I go school I three.

Valentine's Day

The kids making Valentines for their classmates. The last few years I have had them make their own cards and I was really excited this year about just dumping a ton of supplies on the table and letting them go for it. It took a few days to finish all of them but it was a lot of fun, glitter glue and all.

The night before Valentines Taylor and I went to dinner at East Side Cafe and then to an arcade. I tried to get him to win me that amazing Coach bag, but he only tried 4 times...I am sure he would have got it on the next try. Super fun date with my best friend!

Actual Valentines we cleaned the church and attended a birthday party here in the complex. Then yummy dinner as a family, dipping chocolate strawberries and watching some Korra Avatar.

Hyrum Talk

Hannah and Matthias' best friends are Korean so they pick up the occasional Korean word. Hannah has taken to calling me "Oma" which is Korean for Mom. The other day Hyrum was calling me and I wasn't responding...

Hyrum: "Mom, mom, mom! Mom! Oma, oma!"

We drove past a taxi the other day and Hyrum shouted "taxi!" so I told him, "remember, we used to ride in taxis in Singapore." For the rest of the morning he kept saying "Ride taxi. Sing a pore!!" with 3 syllables like that.

One night at dinner Hyrum kept poking Hannah with his fork. Finally she got mad so I told him he need to stop because it wasn't nice. He climbed off his chair and went in the living room to stand in the corner by the door. I asked him what he was doing and to come back to dinner. To which he responded, "I bad." He kept standing there for like 5 minutes before we convinced him he could come back to dinner.

Hyrum just brought a picture over to me, lifted up my shirt, and said "look Grace."

James' 10th (!!) Birthday

We have officially been parents for a full decade. Pretty crazy that James is in the 2 digits now. He had a great birthday getting a new bike, fancy new pocket knife, remote control car from Gma Harvey and a Lego Creator set from Gma Urie.

Hyrum and I surprised him at school the day before his birthday to take him out to lunch which was really fun. We went to Thunder Cloud subs which he loves. The actual day of his birthday, his class went on a field trip which is always exciting.

He played baseball with some friends after school and then we headed to Magnolia Café for dinner. Where James order the "full stack" of pancakes like he is always begging to do. He made it through one of the three pancakes before he was too full to eat anymore. One of the managers there gave all the kids t-shirts also so it was a fun eating out experience. Home for cake and ice cream and bed.

Happy Birthday James!!
