4th of July

We went to the Tarrytown parade in the morning. It was 15 minutes long which was awesome and the kids got plenty of candy to make them happy. For lunch we had to Phil's icehouse for burgers and root beer.

Relax most today the Barlow's came over for pizza dinner and to hang out.then we walked down to the Marbridge to watch the fireworks over Lady Bird Lake. It was a longer walk than we thought but everyone had a lot of fun.

We kept hoping all day that Grace was coming for her holiday birthday but she did not make an appearance. Still it was a really fun day and glad the Barlow's could come down too!

Grace Arwen

Grace was born July 8, 2015 at 3:03 am. She was 9 lbs 6 oz and 21 inches long. Labor was long and hard. First six hours really random contractions and still not sure if true labor. Last six hours very rough, back labor, and just hard.

She wasn't breathing on her own when she came out so needed some resuscitation. Very scary moment but she perked right up and is doing great.

So happy she is here with us now. We have been excited for our baby Grace to join our family.

Barton Creek West Barracudas

Swim team this year was a little crazy with all the rain. Two meets were cancelled and a bunch of practices. But we still had a fun year and both Matthias and Hannah did great.

Hannah really took off this year, cutting her freestyle time by like 18 seconds by the end of the season. And another 10 off backstroke. She also swam a qualifying butterfly time at one meet. Super proud of her. She worked really hard, made friends and had a ton of fun.

Matthias swam well and improved all his times. He enjoyed doing the IM this year and swam it at several meets. He really improved his breaststroke after watching some youtube videos and working on it in practice. Also he was able to go to All Star invitationals this year with his relay teams, swimming on both the medley relay team in freestyle and the 100 freestyle relay.

James of course broke his arm and so he took the year off which he was wanting to do anyway. Win-win. Or maybe lose-win.

Memorial Day

Memorial Day we did the Texas State Cemetary which has Stephan F Austin's grave. Also was originally for confederate soldiers so there is a whole section for them. The other half is Texas politicians...senators, mayors, judges, etc. James' best friend Jonny hung out with us all day.

Then Thinkery with the Barlows where we had a tornado warning and had to huddle every person in the museum into the light room for like 20 minutes. Super fun. Torchy's for dinner and then home in the pouring rain/flooded streets.
