Dish towel aprons

Last night I came across a dish towel I have been saving to make James an apron with and decided it was about time to get to work. I was staring at the dish cloth deciding how to proceed and decided, "ya know, today I choose to be lazy" so I jumped on the computer and did a Google search for "dish towel into child apron pattern" and chose this link.

(Now can I just put in an aside to express my love...obsession in Taylor's words...of everything Google. Best stuff invented.)

So after a little work this morning I produced these beauties. (Notice the pocket on Matthias'...very crafty.)

And of course I thought, what better place to try out this than on Matthias' apron. SO much fun. So much. Find an old dish towel and make an apron for your small child. And stencil something while you're at it. You will be glad you did.

James wanted to help stencil, so we did a regular old dish towel too with stars.

Holy Moley! THIS is what became of an "I feel lazy" kind of day? Phenomenal. Those aprons are so so so cute. I smell Enrichment activity. I need to find me a really big dish towel.... Thanks for sharing!

That is so cool! I love it! I'm gonna do one for Sarah. How'd you know I keep trying to make or buy one and just can't get the right things. What inspiration. You have all kinds of projects that would never come to me in a lazy moment.

Just to clarify...the lazy statement was referring to my decision to not make up my own "pattern" and not my current state of being. I just didn't want to think of how to do it so I looked up how someone else had already done it. That's the lazy part.

So adorable. I love the cupcake idea. Now I can see where I am going to get tripped up. I may want to overcomplicate things...good job, great inspiration and I can't wait to see how they wash up. Wow! You are amazing.
