Gas Stoves Rule

Boy do I miss my gas stoves. Having been spoiled with gas stoves in our last two homes I am having a hard time coming to grips with my current flat top. I do not like cooking on it. I have a difficult time cooking food on a surface that is constantly turning on and off. Weird, I know. It drives me crazy!!

I've repeatedly asked people what is so great about these flat tops that they have become so popular? The #1 always and only answer: "well, they are SO easy to clean."

So I ask, what is the purpose of a stove? To clean it? I like to cook on my stove.

Ha ha...we'll be headed back to a gas stove eventually- I figure we can pay someone to come clean my stove...

My gas stove is easier to clean than the flat top that was in our rental.

I totally agree with you Kristi! I loved my gas stove at my other place. Unfortunately at this house we have a flat top, I don't enjoy it either. I have plans in my kitchen renovation to include a gas stove... but that will be awhile. :-D

Aaron hates my flat top! He loves to cook for us but complains about my stove the entire time :)

I would have to disagree with your feelings about gas stoves. I am experiencing my first and really dislike it with a vengeance! Maybe it's because my canning experiences on a gas stove have not been positive. At all.

Anyway, we'll leave the gas stoves in the world to you and the others who like them.

My flat top was way harder to clean than my gas stove. I'm not sure why people like them except they look nicer than elements if you don't have gas in your home.

Amen. I miss my gas stove. But I have to admit, I love cleaning my flat top.
