Food Storage

So jealous of this pantry, but these people were quite funny (and rude) about it.

More great pictures of her food storage.

Engineering Marvel

Hannah should totally be enjoying her meals in this.

Me: What is this thing?
Taylor: An engineering marvel.

Seriously though, we think we might actually get a high chair now that we're on number three. I'm not yet convinced though, but after seeing this high chair. We might be able to justify the cost if we sell the kitchen table....

Soup in July

Tonight for dinner is Danish Potato Soup and boy is it good. So good I think I may have posted about it previously...

Soup in July? We knew we were moving north, but we didn't realize we made it all the way to Alaska. It's currently in the 60s. Perfect July weather for soup.

Happy Birthday To Me!

Taylor took work off Friday (my birthday), so Thursday night we headed up to Breckenridge and stayed the night. Lots of good food was eaten, fun times were had. Swimming, Alpine Slide, Mini Golf, Mazes, Ice Cream, playing, porta potties, naughty children...lots of fun. I got a blender, Blue Bell (mmm), chocolate, and tickets to Wicked. I want to remember every single moment, but if I take too much longer typing I'll miss the moments happening right now...

James loved the Alpine Slide (he and I went together). I was terrified of the ski lift as usual, but hide my terror well so James was not. Matthias stomped on several flowers in someone's garden. James made me stand in a porta potty for 10 minutes before he decided he didn't really need to go. I said, "I don't want my family singing on my answering machine!" only to find out I had accidentally answered the phone and they were listening to my every word...Oops.

I love my birthday. Taylor did a great job planning our adventure. The boys did a great job making it memorable. Hannah was cute.

James Speak

James: We should have stayed in other house forever.
Me: Why?
James: Because I wanted to keep my same friends.

(after his time out for choking Matthias)
James: Matt come see what I did. Come see!.....I made your bed.
Matthias: Oh.
James: (to me) Someone said in my primary class that she had a family home evening and they picked names. Someone said, my teacher said in my class when she was a little girl they had family home evening. and they had family home evening. And she snuck in her brother's room and made his bed. I learned that in my class.

James likes singing the lyrics to Love Story by Taylor Swift, so we were singing along the other day...

James: Marry me Juliet.
Me: You'll never have to be alone...talk to your dad, go pick out a white dress.
James: Did you say white?
Me: Yeah, those are the words. A white dress.
James: Oh, I thought it was wide.

I hate the night because I don't get to play.

James got dressed and came into the kitchen in sweats...and it is not very hot here, but still 80 degrees is probably a little warmer than you would need sweats for.

Me: You like you're going to sweat to death.
James: Does sweat cool you down?
Me: Um, yes.
James: That's why I'm wearing this. To cool down.

No one is stronger than me. After breakfast I'm going to make my bed, lift weights, and step up on the hope chest.

Swing Set

When we left Texas we promised the boys we would replace their swing set. It's been a long time coming due to the fact that we have the tiniest back yard, we don't know how long we're going to live anywhere and we only like wood playsets.

We got over a bunch of those things and just ended up getting a cheap metal swingset off craigslist. It's definitely not very pretty and it does take up half our backyard (literally)...and now we are going to have to move it, but this makes it all worth it...

I think the boys have clocked well over 30 hours on this set since its purchase two weeks ago. I'm not exaggerating. The first three days they spent over 10. Totally worth it. And one of the best benefits is James now knows how to pump himself from nothing...he can sit on the swing and go from a stand still to super high. It's almost as great as the day your kids potty trains. So much independence and freedom!

The boys have attempted all sorts of tricks. Matthias fell on his head and said, "I did a flippy-flip." They are pretty hilarious. And since James went with me to pick up the swing set and bring it home in the van he knows it's mobile and informed me it will come with us when we move. Of course.

Hannah's swing was purchased at Wal-mart and to make a long story short I paid for one swing and came home to open the box and find 4 swings...so now we have to go to Wal-mart again to return the things. Honestly people.

Matthias Chatter

(upon finding him out of bed and downstairs)
Me: Why did you get out of bed?
Matthias: Didn't get out bed. I fall out of bed.
Me: And you fell all the way downstairs?

Me: Where did Daddy get to?
Matthias: To market.
Me: Really...what is he doing there?
Matthias: Buying fat pig.

(looking at a book and pointing out the pictures)
Matthias: A clock!
Me: That's right. Do you know what a clock tells us?
Matthias: Not wake up!
